    The Duke of York, Commodore, Royal Thames Yacht Club, this afternoon received Mr. Bernard Kinchin upon relinquishing his appointment as Vice Commodore and Mr. George Ehlers upon assuming the appointment.

    His Royal Highness later received His Honour Mokgweetsi Eric Masisi (Vice President of the Republic of Botswana).

    Mr. Jonathan Marsden was received by Her Majesty today upon relinquishing his appointment as Director of the Royal Collection and Surveyor of The Queen's Works of Art when Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

    Sir Alan Reid was received by Her Majesty upon relinquishing his appointment as Keeper of the Privy Purse and Treasurer to The Queen.

    Mr. Christopher Heaton-Harris MP (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household) was received in audience by The Queen this afternoon and presented an Address from the House of Commons to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to make reply.

    The Duke of Edinburgh, Captain General Royal Marines, this afternoon received Major General Robert Magowan upon relinquishing his appointment as Commandant General and Major General Charles Stickland upon assuming the appointment, and also upon His Royal Highness retiring as Captain General.

    Prince Henry of Wales was present upon His Royal Highness's appointment as Captain General Royal Marines.

    His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Trustees' Meeting for The Prince of Wales's Charitable Foundation.

    The Princess Royal, President, UK Fashion and Textile Association, this afternoon visited Stephen Walters and Sons Limited, Sudbury Silk Mills, Cornard Road, Sudbury, and was received by Mr. Mark Pendlington (Deputy Lieutenant of Suffolk).

    Her Royal Highness, Appeal Patron, Woolf Institute Fundraising Appeal, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
