    Buckingham Palace

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh today visited Pangbourne College, Pangbourne, Reading, to celebrate its Centenary and were received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire (Mr. James Puxley), the Chairman of Governors (Rear Admiral Roger Lane-Knott) and the Headmaster (Mr. Thomas Garnier).

    Her Majesty and His Royal Highness attended a Centenary Service in the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh afterwards met students, staff and alumni and subsequently were entertained to Luncheon in the Old Library.

    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon viewed a Parade and Her Majesty presented Colours to the College before presenting two students with The Queen's Gold Medal.

    The Queen later received His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, 118th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, at Windsor Castle.

    The Lord Young of Cookham (Lord in Waiting) was present at Heathrow Airport, London, this afternoon upon the Arrival of The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The Queen.

    The following Canadian Chiefs of Staff were received later by Her Majesty: General Jonathan Vance (Chief of Defence Staff), Vice Admiral Ronald Lloyd (Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy), Lieutenant General Paul Wynnyk (Commander of the Canadian Army), Lieutenant General Michael Hood (Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force) and Lieutenant General Stephen Bowes (Commander Canadian Joint Operations Command).

    The State Counsellor and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Burma (Her Excellency Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) visited The Queen and remained to Luncheon.

    The Duke of Cambridge was present.

    The Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen this afternoon.

    The Queen held a Council at 3.30 p.m.

    There were present: the Rt. Hon. David Lidington MP (Lord President), the Baroness Evans of Bowes Park (Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal), the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP (Secretary of State for Health) and the Rt. Hon. Sir Patrick McLoughlin MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster).

    The Rt. Hon. Tobias Ellwood MP, Sir Gary Hickinbottom, the Rt. Hon. Dame Kathryn Thirlwall and the Rt. Hon. Ben Wallace MP were sworn in as members of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council.

    Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

    The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel-in-Chief, Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, this morning received Lieutenant General Andrew Figgures upon relinquishing his appointment as Master General and Lieutenant General Paul Jaques upon assuming the appointment.

    His Royal Highness, Honorary Life Member, Marylebone Cricket Club, this afternoon opened the new Warner Stand, Lord's Cricket Ground, St. John's Wood Road, London NW8, and was received by Wing Commander Michael Dudgeon (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

    The Duke of Edinburgh was represented by Colonel Richard Aubrey-Fletcher (President, the Grenadier Guards Association) at the Memorial Service for Captain David Horn (formerly Grenadier Guards and Curator of the Guards Museum) which was held in the Guards Chapel, Wellington Barracks, Birdcage Walk, London SW1, this morning.

    The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Reverend Alastair Symington to be an Extra Chaplain to Her Majesty in Scotland.
