    The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lord Geidt (Permanent Lord in Waiting) at the Service of Thanksgiving for the Life of Major General Sir John Swinton (formerly Major General Commanding Household Division and General Officer Commanding London District, and formerly Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Berwickshire) which was held at Swinton Kirk, Swinton, Berwickshire, this morning.

    The Duke of Kent was represented by Brigadier Harry Nickerson.

    The Queen was present at the Funeral of Jean, Countess of Carnarvon which was held at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Highclere, Berkshire, this morning.

    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall were represented by the Earl of Halifax.

    The Duke of York was represented by the Hon. Mary Morrison.

    The Earl and Countess of Wessex were represented by Brigadier Alastair Bruce of Crionaich.

    The Princess Royal was represented by Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles.

    The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Mr. Nicolas Adamson.

    Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs. Peter Afia.

    Appendix To Court Circular

    The Queen has been pleased to appoint the Reverend Canon Robert White and the Reverend Canon Adrian Hughes to be Chaplains to Her Majesty in succession to the Reverend Canon Paul Miller and the Reverend Prebendary Kathleen Garlick.

    Windsor Castle

    The Queen, accompanied by Princess Eugenie, this morning attended the Maundy Service in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, at which Her Majesty distributed the Royal Maundy.

    The Queen and Her Royal Highness were received at the North Door of the Chapel by the Dean of Windsor (the Right Reverend David Conner).

    The Right Reverend Dr. John Inge (Lord High Almoner) and the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Almoner) were present.

    The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard and the Military Knights of Windsor were on duty.

    Her Majesty and Her Royal Highness this afternoon joined representatives of the Chapel and the Royal Almonry at a Reception in the Deanery.

    The Queen held a Council at 12.40 p.m..

    There were present: the Rt. Hon. Andrea Leadsom MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. James Brokenshire MP (Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government), the Rt. Hon. Sajid Javid MP (Secretary of State for the Home Department) and the Rt. Hon. David Lidington MP (Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office).

    Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

    The Rt. Hon. Andrea Leadsom MP had an audience of Her Majesty before the Council.

    The Queen gave a Dinner Party at Windsor Castle this evening at which The Duke of York was present.

Hon. Sir Alan and Lady Moses, Sir John and Lady Spurling, Canon Dr. and Mrs. Edmund Newell, Mr. and Mrs. Robin Budenberg, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the Royal County of Berkshire and Mrs. Puxley, Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. Mark Berry, Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. Edwyn Launders and the Rt. Hon. Edward and Mrs. Young.
