The Duke of Kent, President, this afternoon attended a Concert to commemorate the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Royal Choral Society, at the Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gore, London SW7, and was received by Colonel Jane Davis (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London).

The Coronation of The King and Queen took place in Westminster Abbey today.

Their Majesties left Buckingham Palace at 10.20 o'clock this morning and proceeded in State to the Abbey, escorted by a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry, with Standard, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Armitage (The Life Guards).

The Archbishop of Canterbury conducted the Service.

His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard, The King's Body Guard for Scotland (the Royal Company of Archers) and The King's Bargemaster and Watermen were on duty.

The King and Queen returned to the Palace at 1.08 o'clock.

Combined Guards of Honour of the three Services were mounted outside the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

Their Majesties this afternoon, from Buckingham Palace, witnessed a fly-past by aircraft of the Royal Air Force.

Members of Foreign Royal Families, Heads of State and Representatives from the Commonwealth were received and welcomed to the United Kingdom today on behalf of The King.

The King this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace for Realm Governor-Generals and Prime Ministers.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent attended.

His Majesty afterwards attended a Reception for Commonwealth Heads of Government at Marlborough House, London SW1, and was received by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (the Baroness Scotland of Asthal).

The King later held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for visiting Heads of State and Overseas Guests at which The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent were present.
