The King this morning drove to the old Gairnshiel Bridge, near Ballater, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson) and Mr. Donald MacPherson (Head of Bridges Team, Aberdeenshire Council).

His Majesty was received with a Royal Salute by the Lonach Highlanders.

The King afterwards walked to the new bridge, was received by Mrs. Judy Whyte (Provost of Aberdeenshire) and officially opened the new Gairnshiel Jubilee Bridge.

The King this morning visited James Jones and Sons Limited, Burnroot Sawmill, Aboyne, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson) and the Chairman (Mr. Tom Bruce-Jones).

His Majesty, escorted by the Chairman and Mr. Duncan Cassie (Site Manager), toured the site, viewing the log sorting cabin, log yard, operations room of the main sawmill, and treatment plant and meeting members of staff and apprentices.

The Queen this morning attended a Talk at the Braemar Literary Festival, St. Margaret's Art Centre, Braemar, Aberdeenshire.

The King this morning visited Global Underwater Hub, 1 Abercrombie Court, Arnhall Business Park, Prospect Road, Westhill, Aberdeen, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire (Mr. Alexander Manson) and the Chief Executive (Mr. Neil Gordon).

The King, escorted by the Chief Executive and Mr. Michael Jones (Chairman, Global Underwater Hub North Advisory Group), viewed a submersible Remotely Operated Vehicle on display and live footage from an underwater vehicle deployed in the North Sea, before meeting members of staff and representatives of organisations linked to the subsea economy.

His Majesty subsequently viewed display stands featuring diving technology, three-dimensional underwater visualisation and science to restore marine habitats, and associated educational outreach programmes.

The King this evening held a Reception for the Royal Warrant Holders Association at Balmoral Castle.

The Queen this evening attended the Braemar Literary Festival Dinner at the Fife Arms, Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

The King and Queen were represented by Major Henry Robertson (Lieutenant of The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard) at the Memorial Service for Colonel Greville Tufnell (former Lieutenant of The King's Body Guard the Yeomen of the Guard) which was held in All Saints Church, North Cerney, Gloucestershire, today.

The King was represented by The Duchess of Edinburgh at the Funeral of Mr. Giorgio Napolitano (former President of the Italian Republic) which was held at the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament in Rome, Italy, this morning.

By command of The King, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) this morning called upon Her Excellency Mrs. Saroja Sirisena at 13 Hyde Park Gardens, London W2, in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as High Commissioner for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in London.

By command of His Majesty, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps later received Her Excellency Ms. Guisell Morales-Echaverry at St. James's Palace in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Nicaragua to the Court of St. James's.

By command of The King, the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps afterwards called upon Her Excellency Mrs. Aleksandra Joksimovic at 28 Belgrave Square, London SW1, in order to bid farewell to Her Excellency upon relinquishing her appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Serbia to the Court of St. James's.

The King was represented by Mrs. Elaine Grieve (His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney) at the Funeral of Mr. George Marwick (formerly His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney) which was held in St. Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall, this morning.

The Princess Royal was represented by Mr. William Spence (formerly His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Orkney).

The King and Queen, accompanied by His Majesty's Ambassador to the French Republic (Her Excellency Dame Menna Rawlings), this afternoon arrived in Bordeaux and, having been received by the Prefect of the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region (Monsieur Étienne Guyot), undertook a short walkabout at Place Pey-Berland.

Their Majesties signed the Livre d'Or at the Hôtel de Ville and were received by the Mayor of Bordeaux (Monsieur Pierre Hurmic).

The King and Queen subsequently attended a Reception on board HMS IRON DUKE and were received by the Commanding Officer (Commander James Wallington-Smith), the Naval Attaché to the French Republic (Captain Philip Wills) and the Regional South-West Commander Officer General de la Zone de Défense et de Sécurité du Sud-Ouest (Général de Corps Aerien Laurent Lherbette).

His Majesty, accompanied by Her Majesty, was received with a Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour.

The King and Queen afterwards travelled by tram from Quinconces Fleuve to Place de la Bourse.

Their Majesties, having been received by the Deputy Trade Commissioner for Europe, British Embassy Paris (Ms. Jo Hawley), visited a Showcase to celebrate the Franco-British relationship at Place de la Bourse, viewing stands and meeting members of the local British and French communities.

The King later visited the Forêt Expérimentale de l'Université de Bordeaux and was received by the President of the University (Monsieur Dean Lewis), the Vice-President of the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (Monsieur Jean-Francois Soussana) and the Research Director of the Experimental Forest Project (Monsieur Sylvain Delzon).

His Majesty, escorted by the President of the University, Vice-President and Research Director, met members of the 2022 Landes wildfire crisis response team and was briefed on elements of the Project including work on fire resilience strategies and community outreach.

The Queen visited Pain de l'Amitié, Rue Saint-Nicholas, Bordeaux.

The King and Queen later visited the biodynamic vineyard at Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte, Martillac, and were received by the Vineyard Owners (Madame Florence Cathiard and Monsieur Daniel Cathiard).

Their Majesties viewed the wine cellars and the cooperage, and met members of staff and winemakers from the Entre-Deux-Mers area.

The King and Queen, attended by the Rt. Hon. Sir Clive Alderton, Mr. Christopher Fitzgerald, Ms. Eva Omaghomi, Mr. Tobyn Andreae, Ms. Laura Sullivan, Dr. Douglas Glass, Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson and Mrs. Sophia Densham, subsequently departed from Bordeaux-Merignac Airport upon the conclusion of the State Visit to France.
