Dame Karen Pierce (His Majesty's Ambassador to the United States of America) was received by The King.

Dr. Henry Kissinger (former United States Secretary of State) was received by His Majesty.

The King, Colonel-in-Chief, this evening entertained the Colonels of the Regiments of the Household Division to Dinner at Clarence House.

The Queen, Colonel, Grenadier Guards, this evening attended the Senior Colonels' Conference and Dinner at Clarence House.

Buckingham Palace

The President of The Portuguese Republic visited The King this morning.

His Majesty and The President afterwards attended a Service of Thanksgiving at The Queen's Chapel, Marlborough Road, St. James's, London SW1, to mark the Six Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance and were received by the Reverend Canon Paul Wright (Sub-Dean of His Majesty's Chapels Royal) and Dr. Maria João Rodrigues de Araujo (President of Portugal-UK 650).

The following were received in audience by The King this afternoon and kissed hands upon their appointment as His Majesty's Ambassadors: Mr. Stephen Conlon (Turkmenistan), Mr. John Marshall (the Republic of Guinea), Ms. Katharine Ransome (the Republic of Mali and non-resident Ambassador to Burkina Faso) and Mr. Darren Welch (the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia).

Mrs. Conlon and Mrs. Welch were also received by His Majesty.

The Earl of Crawford and Balcarres was received by The King and delivered up the Insignia of the Order of the Thistle worn by his father, the late Earl of Crawford and Balcarres.

The Hon. Alexander Lindsay, the Lady Bettina Drummond-Hay and the Lady Iona Mackworth-Young were also received by His Majesty.

The King, Colonel-in-Chief, The Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons), accompanied by The Princess Royal, Colonel, Gold Stick in Waiting, later presented the new Sovereign's Standard to The Blues and Royals in the Quadrangle of Buckingham Palace.

His Majesty and Her Royal Highness were received on Parade with a Royal Salute.

After the new Standard was consecrated, The King was graciously pleased to address the Parade and Colonel Mark Berry (Lieutenant Colonel Commanding Household Cavalry, Silver Stick-in-Waiting) replied.

The Parade subsequently ranked past His Majesty and Her Royal Highness.

The King today received the Hon. Mrs. Susan Leyden (daughter of the Lord Hunt), Mr. Peter Hillary (son of Sir Edmund Hillary) and Mr. Jamling Norgay (son of Mr. Tenzing Norgay) to mark the Seventieth Anniversary of the Ascent of Mount Everest.

The following were received in audience by The King and kissed hands upon their appointment as His Majesty's Ambassadors: Ms. Fiona Blyth (Mongolia, Mr. Nicholas Bowler (the Kyrgyz Republic), Mr. Edward Hobart (the United Arab Emirates) and Mr. Michael Nithavrianakis (the Republic of Somalia).

Mrs. Bowler, Mrs. Suzanna Hobart and Mrs. Nithavrianakis were also received by His Majesty.

The King and Queen this afternoon held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate "Windrush: a Pioneering Generation" to mark the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the Landing of HMT EMPIRE WINDRUSH at the Port of Tilbury.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The King unveiled portraits of Windrush elders commissioned by His Majesty.

The King held a Council at 4.30 p.m..

There were present: the Rt. Hon.Penelope Mordaunt MP (Lord President), the Rt. Hon. Stephen Barclay MP (Secretary of State for Health and Social Care), the Rt. Hon. The Queen this afternoon named the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment's new Drum Horse, "Juno", at Clarence House.

Her Majesty, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Australian Corps of Military Police, this afternoon received Colonel Ruth Weir (Head of Corps).

The Queen, President, later attended a Garden Party at Marlborough House, London SW1, to mark the Thirtieth Anniversary of Bees for Development.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

The Lord Harlech (Lord in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this afternoon upon the Arrival of The President of the Portuguese Republic and welcomed His Excellency on behalf of The King.

The King this afternoon presented Honours at Buckingham Palace to former and serving members of the Royal Household who were recognised in the Honours List on the Demise of Queen Elizabeth II.

His Majesty later held a Reception for United Kingdom Heads of Mission at St. James's Palace.

The Princess Royal, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

The King this morning arrived by Royal Train pulled by the Flying Scotsman into Pickering Railway Station, Park Street, Pickering, to mark the Centenary of the Flying Scotsman and the Fiftieth Anniversary of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of North Yorkshire (Mrs. Johanna Ropner) and the Chairman of North Yorkshire Moors Railway Trust (Dr. Simon Brockington).

His Majesty, having been received by the Custodian of the Flying Scotsman (the Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill) and the Director of the National Railway Museum (Mrs. Judith McNicol), viewed the footplate of the Flying Scotsman and, escorted by Mr. Christopher Price (Chief Executive of North Yorkshire Moors Railway), met volunteers, apprentices and members of staff.

The King subsequently proceeded on foot to Market Place, Pickering, and met local shopkeepers before viewing medieval frescoes in St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Hall Garth, Pickering, having been received by the Vicar (the Reverend Gareth Atha).

The King and The Queen, Patron, The Queen's Reading Room, this evening attended a Reception for The Queen's Reading Room Literary Festival at Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey, and were received by the Chairman of Historic Royal Palaces (Ms. Carole Souter), the Chairman of The Queen's Reading Room (Ms. Amanda MacKenzie) and Ms. Victoria Perrin (Chief Executive).

Her Majesty afterwards attended a Festival performance at the Palace.

The King this morning held a Meeting at Buckingham Palace for Disasters Emergency Committee member agency Chief Executive Officers and aid workers.

His Majesty this afternoon received Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew Stokes (Coldstream Guards) and Ms. Susan Amer.

The King and Queen entertained The King and Queen of the Belgians to Dinner this evening at Windsor Castle.

The Queen this afternoon opened the British Flowers Week Exhibition at the Garden Museum, 5 Lambeth Palace Road, London SE1, and was received by Mr. Christopher Wellbelove (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Her Majesty later received Colonel Richard Charrington (Colonel, The Royal Lancers, Queen Elizabeths' Own) and Lieutenant Colonel William Richmond (Commanding Officer) upon The Queen's appointment as Colonel-in-Chief of the Regiment.

The Lord Evans of Rainow (Lord in Waiting) was present at Royal Air Force Northolt this morning upon the Arrival of The King and Queen of the Belgians and welcomed Their Majesties on behalf of The King.

The King this morning presented Honours at Buckingham Palace to members of the Army who were involved in the State Funeral of The late Queen Elizabeth II.

His Majesty received the Bishop of Blackburn (the Right Reverend Philip North) today who did homage upon his appointment.

The Rt. Hon. Alexander Chalk MP (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) administered the Oath.

The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance.

The Lord Patten of Barnes was received by The King this afternoon when His Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

The Rt. Hon. Ben Wallace MP (Secretary of State for Defence) was received by The King.

Admiral Sir Benjamin Key (First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff) was received by His Majesty.

The King this evening attended a performance of George Frideric Handel's Coronation Anthems and "Dettingen Te Deum" given by the Royal Philharmonic Society and Wigmore Hall to celebrate the Coronation in St. James's Roman Catholic Church, Spanish Place, 22 George Street, London W1, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Chairman of Royal Philharmonic Society and Director of Wigmore Hall (Mr. John Gilhooly) and the Rector (Monsignor Philip Whitmore).

The King presented Ms. Judith Weir (Master of The King's Music) with Honorary Membership of the Royal Philharmonic Society.

His Majesty later attended a Reception given by The President of Romania at Cotroceni Palace.

The King was represented by the Earl Bathurst (President of Cirencester Polo Club) at a Thanksgiving Celebration for the Life of Mr. Kuldip Singh Dhillon (former Chairman of Cirencester Polo Club) which was held at Trewsbury Farm, Coates, near Cirencester, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.
