Buckingham Palace

The Coronation of The King and Queen took place in Westminster Abbey today.

Their Majesties left Buckingham Palace at 10.20 o'clock this morning and proceeded in State to the Abbey, escorted by a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry, with Standard, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Armitage (The Life Guards).

The Archbishop of Canterbury conducted the Service.

The Prince and Princess of Wales with Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Louis of Wales, The Duke of Sussex, The Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank and Mr. Jack Brooksbank, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with the Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor and Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Mr. Peter Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Tindall, The Earl of Snowdon, Viscount Linley and The Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, Mr. Daniel and The Lady Sarah Chatto and Mr. Samuel Chatto, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Earl of Ulster, The Lady Davina Lewis, The Lady Rose Gilman, The Duke of Kent, Earl of St. Andrews, The Lord Nicholas Windsor, The Lady Helen Taylor, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, The Lord Frederick Windsor, The Lady Gabriella Kingston, Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, Mr. James Ogilvy and Miss Marina Ogilvy were present.

His Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The King's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard, The King's Body Guard for Scotland (the Royal Company of Archers) and The King's Bargemaster and Watermen were on duty.

The King and Queen returned to the Palace at 1.08 o'clock.

Combined Guards of Honour of the three Services were mounted outside the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace.

Their Majesties this afternoon, from Buckingham Palace, witnessed a fly-past by aircraft of the Royal Air Force.

Members of Foreign Royal Families, Heads of State and Representatives from the Commonwealth were received and welcomed to the United Kingdom today on behalf of The King.

St. James's Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this morning attended the Small Island Developing States Reception at Lancaster House, Stable Yard, St. James's, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace

The King this afternoon gave a Luncheon at Buckingham Palace for Realm Governor-Generals and Prime Ministers.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent attended.

His Majesty afterwards attended a Reception for Commonwealth Heads of Government at Marlborough House, London SW1, and was received by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (the Baroness Scotland of Asthal).

The King later held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for visiting Heads of State and Overseas Guests at which The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and The Duke of Kent were present.

Members of Foreign Royal Families, Heads of State and Representatives from the Commonwealth were received and welcomed to the United Kingdom today on behalf of The King.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Colonel, and The Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited 1st Battalion London Guards at Garretts Clubhouse, Aldershot Military Stadium, Queen's Avenue, Aldershot, Hampshire.

St. James's Palace

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this morning visited the Big Venture Community Centre, 17 Chesterton Road, Wolverhampton, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of West Midlands (Sir John Crabtree).

Their Royal Highnesses later visited Beatsabar Music Studios at Newhampton Arts Centre, Dunkley Street, Wolverhampton, and were received by Ms. Pauline Black (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, and The Duchess of Edinburgh this afternoon visited the Royal School Wolverhampton, Penn Road, Wolverhampton, and were received by Mrs. Christine Arthur (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

Their Royal Highnesses afterwards visited City of Wolverhampton College, Wellington Campus, Wellington Road, Wolverhampton, and were received by Dr. Satya Sharma (Deputy Lieutenant of West Midlands).

The Duke of Edinburgh this evening attended the Stone of Destiny Ceremony at Westminster Abbey, London SW1.
