    Buckingham Palace

    The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, Small Arms School Corps, this morning visited the monument at the site of the School of Musketry and afterwards unveiled a bas-relief for the monument at the Bowling Club, Ladies Walk, Hythe, and was received by Major Dennis Bradley (Deputy Lieutenant of Kent). His Royal Highness later opened the offices of Working Rite at 7 Cambridge Road, Hastings, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex (Mr. Peter Field). The Duke of York this afternoon attended a Lunch followed by a Reception for Kick Start Kent at Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery, St. Faith's Street, Maidstone, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Viscount De L'Isle). His Royal Highness this evening attended a Reception given by His Excellency the Ambassador from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the Embassy, 30-32 Charles Street, London W1.

    Buckingham Palace

    The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Irish Regiment (27th (Inniskilling), 83rd, 87th and The Ulster Defence Regiment), this morning received Lieutenant General Sir Philip Trousdell upon relinquishing his appointment as Colonel of the Regiment and Brigadier Joseph O'Sullivan upon assuming the appointment. His Royal Highness this afternoon held a Meeting for the Saudi British Business Council at Lancaster House, London SW1. The Duke of York later held a Reception for the Saudi British Business Council at St. James's Palace.

    Sir John Jenkins was received in audience by The Queen today and kissed hands upon his appointment as Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Lady Jenkins was also received by Her Majesty. Major General the Hon. Michael Jeffery was received by The Queen. Major General Edward Smythe-Osbourne was received by Her Majesty upon his appointment as Major General Commanding Household Division. The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a Reception at Buckingham Palace this evening for The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust. The Earl of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy were present. The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The Queen, held an Investiture at Buckingham Palace this morning. The Baptism of the Infant Son of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took place at 3.00 p.m. this afternoon in the Chapel Royal, St. James's Palace. The Archbishop of Canterbury, assisted by the Bishop of London (Dean of Her Majesty's Chapels Royal) and the Reverend Prebendary William Scott (Sub-Dean of Her Majesty's Chapels Royal), baptised the Infant Prince who received the names George Alexander Louis. The Godparents were: Mrs. Michael Tindall, Earl Grosvenor, the Hon. Mrs. Michael Samuel, Mrs. David Jardine-Paterson, Mr. Oliver Baker, Mr. William van Cutsem and Major James Lowther-Pinkerton.

    The Prince of Wales this morning joined a discussion on food security resilience at the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. His Royal Highness later visited King Abdulaziz International Airport Media Centre and met representatives of British companies involved in the Airport's redevelopment project. The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited the Bab Rizq Jameel Centre, Jeddah. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon arrived at Muscat Seeb International Airport, Oman, and were received by Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman (His Excellency Mr. James Bowden) and Sayyid Fahad bin Mahmood Al Said (Deputy Prime Minister of the Sultanate of Oman). Their Royal Highnesses were entertained to Dinner this evening by The Sultan of Oman at Bait al Baraka Palace, Seeb.

    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today carried out the following engagements in Saudi Arabia. His Royal Highness this morning visited the Headquarters of the Saudi Arabia National Guard, Riyadh, on the occasion of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the British Military Mission to Saudi Arabia. The Prince of Wales afterwards joined a discussion on "Preparing Society for Change" at the King Abdulaziz Library, Al Futah, Riyadh. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon visited Majlis Ash-Shura at AL-Yamamh Palace and were received by the Speaker (Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh). Their Royal Highnesses later departed Riyadh Military Airbase for Jeddah and were received on arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport by Prince Khalid al Faisal. The Duchess of Cornwall this morning visited Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh.

    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this morning attended a Reception given by His Excellency Her Majesty's Ambassador to the State of Qatar and Mrs. O'Neill at the Residence in Doha to celebrate United Kingdom - Qatari Bilateral Relations. His Royal Highness later joined a discussion on food security and the challenges of farming in an arid environment with farm workers and students from the Qatar Foundation International Programme at Al Safwa Farm, Doha. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall this afternoon departed Doha International Airport for Saudi Arabia and were received upon arrival at Riyadh Military Airbase by the Governor of Riyadh (Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud). Their Royal Highnesses later attended a Reception given by His Excellency Her Majesty's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Lady Jenkins at the Residence in Riyadh to celebrate United Kingdom - Saudi Bilateral Relations. The Prince of Wales this evening called upon The Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and remained to Dinner.

    Windsor Castle

    The Amir of the State of Kuwait today commenced a State Visit at Windsor Castle to The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Prince of Wales welcomed His Highness on behalf of The Queen. The Amir of the State of Kuwait, accompanied by The Prince of Wales, drove to the Royal Dais in Datchet Road, Windsor, and was met by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Amir of the State of Kuwait, accompanied by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh with The Prince of Wales, drove in a Carriage Procession to Windsor Castle with a Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry. Gun Salutes were fired in the Home Park (Private) by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery and at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company. A Guard of Honour was provided at Windsor Castle by 1st Battalion Irish Guards. Her Majesty's Body Guard of the Honourable Corps of Gentlemen at Arms, The Queen's Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard, the Military Knights of Windsor and a Detachment of the Household Cavalry were on duty. The Amir of the State of Kuwait this afternoon visited the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Camberley, Surrey, and was received by the Commandant (Major General Timothy Evans). The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh gave a State Banquet this evening in honour of The Amir of the State of Kuwait at which The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke of York, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and The Duke of Kent were present. His Royal Highness this evening presented condolences to the Saudi Royal Family following the death of The Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
