The Earl of Wessex attends RAF events

The Earl of Wessex attended the RAF Waddington ISTAR Graduation this week in his role as RAF Waddington’s Honorary Air Commodore.

HRH presented individual awards to the recipients and also awarded five Royal Warrants and one Meritorious Service Medal, before meeting service personnel and their guests.

The Earl also visited the International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) in Lincoln where His Royal Highness visited an exhibition and viewed the Spire Memorial.

The IBCC serves as a point for recognition, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command.

The Earl toured the audio-visual exhibits in the Interactive Exhibition Area and took part in the interactive ‘bombing raid’ at central console.

HRH also met volunteers and found out about the “Ribbon of Remembrance” and commemorative stone at the memorial spire.
