Palace Of Holyroodhouse

The Queen was represented by The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay and The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning when Their Royal Highnesses and Admiral Laurence attended a Service in St. Giles' Cathedral for the Installation of Lady Elish Angiolini as a Lady of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle and Sir George Reid as a Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay and The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, were received at St. Giles' Cathedral by the Chancellor of the Thistle (the Earl of Airlie) and the Minister of St Giles' (the Reverend Calum MacLeod).

A Guard of Honour was mounted in Parliament Square West by The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, with the Colours of the Royal Company, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Johnny Stewart, and accompanied by the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

The Queen gave a Lunch Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse for the Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

The following were invited: the Earl and Countess of Airlie, the Lord and Lady Mackay of Clashfern, the Lord and Lady Wilson of Tillyorn, the Lord and Lady Steel of Aikwood, the Lord and Lady Robertson of Port Ellen, the Lord and Lady Cullen of Whitekirk, the Lord and Lady Hope of Craighead, the Lord and Lady Patel, the Lord Smith of Kelvin, the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, Sir Ian and Lady Wood, Lady Elish Angiolini and Mr. Domenico Angiolini, Sir George and Lady Reid, the Dean of the Thistle (the Very Reverend Professor David Fergusson), Mrs. Christopher Roads (Secretary of the Thistle), Dr. Joseph Morrow (Lord Lyon King of Arms) and Rear Admiral Christopher Layman (Gentleman Usher of the Green Rod).

The Queen, accompanied by The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, this afternoon received The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers, in the garden who presented the Reddendo to Her Majesty which The Queen was graciously pleased to accept.

Her Majesty later left the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon received representatives from the Young Health Leaders Initiative at Dumfries House, Cumnock, Ayrshire.

His Royal Highness, President, The Prince's Foundation, this evening held a Dinner at Dumfries House.

The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, this morning visited Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, O'Donnell Way, Motherwell, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Lanarkshire (the Lady Haughey).

His Royal Highness, Patron, Strathmore Community Rugby Trust, this afternoon visited Strathmore Rugby and Football Club, Inchmacoble Park, Forfar, to celebrate its Fifth Anniversary and was received by Mrs. Robina Addison (Deputy Lieutenant of Angus).

The Earl of Wessex and Forfar, afterwards visited Forfar Sailing Club, Lochside Park, Graham Crescent, Forfar.

The Princess Royal, Chancellor, the University of Edinburgh, this afternoon attended a Reception at South Hall Complex, Holyrood Park Road, Edinburgh, and was received by Mr. Edward Green (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester this morning visited Northampton Museum and Art Gallery, 4-6 Guildhall Road, Northampton, and, having been received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire (Mr. James Saunders Watson), met representatives from the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers celebrating their Seven Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary.

His Royal Highness afterwards visited Moulton College, West Street, Moulton, and was received by Mrs. Morcea Walker (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire).

The Duke of Gloucester this afternoon visited Prince William School, Herne Road, Oundle, Northamptonshire, to mark their Fiftieth Anniversary and to open the Gloucester Hall.

Mrs. Alison Johnstone MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) was received by The Queen today.

The Rt. Hon. Nicola Sturgeon MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government) was received by Her Majesty.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, on behalf of The Queen, gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar and The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence were present.

The Queen's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The Royal Marine Band Scotland, the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers' Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

By command of The Queen, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Lars Thuesen at 55 Sloane Street, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Kingdom of Denmark to the Court of St. James's.

The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon unveiled a memorial to pandemic workers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost).

The Duchess of Cornwall this morning received Captain Richard Hewitt upon assuming his appointment as Commanding Officer HMS PRINCE OF WALES.
