The Queen and the Royal Family attend the Patron's Lunch
Published
The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh and members of the Royal Family join a huge street party and parade on the Mall in celebration of Her Majesty's 90th Birthday.
The Mall in St James’s Park was transformed for its largest ever street party to celebrate The Queen’s patronage of over 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday.
Damp weather at the start of the day did not deter guests from enjoying their picnics on the Mall.
As the rain subsided before Her Majesty's arrival, members of the Royal Family enjoyed a walkabout down the Mall, meeting Patron's Lunch guests.
The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh then arrived to great cheers on the Mall, before The Duke of Cambridge paid tribute to his 'Granny', speaking of Her Majesty's strong health, relentless energy, her sharp wit and for being at the helm of her family, nation and Commonwealth
Her Majesty then offered her reflections on her 90th birthday celebrations. Finally, a huge parade down the Mall celebrated each decade of The Queen's reign, culminating in a look inside Her Majesty's Purse, and a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday'.
