The King and Queen this morning drove to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, to attend the Opening Ceremony to mark the Seventh Session of the Scottish Parliament and were received at Queensberry House by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost). Mr. Kenneth Gibson MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) and the Rt. Hon. John Swinney MSP (First Minister of Scotland).

The Presiding Officer opened the Session of Parliament in the Chamber and His Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Scottish Parliament.

The First Minister subsequently addressed the Parliament.

A Guard of Honour was found by Balaclava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The King and Queen afterwards met groups of Local Heroes in the Main Hall of the Scottish Parliament.

By command of The King, Mr. Alistair Harrison (Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps) called upon His Excellency Mr. Sturla Sigurjónsson at 2A Hans Street, London SW1, this morning in order to bid farewell to His Excellency upon relinquishing his appointment as Ambassador from the Republic of Iceland to the Court of St. James's.

The King this morning received the Afghan Refugee Women's Cricket Team at Clarence House.

The King later visited Roger Gracie Academy, Glen House, 22-24 Glenthorne Road, London W6, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa), the Founder (Mr. Roger Gracie) and the Founder of REORG (Mr. Sam Sheriff).

His Majesty, escorted by the Founder of the Academy and the Founder of REORG, met beneficiaries of REORG and viewed a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, before participating in a grading ceremony.

The King this afternoon received the Hon. John Kerry.

His Majesty afterwards joined a Reception at Buckingham Palace on the Global Action Agenda.

The King later received the Hon. Mia Mottley MP (Prime Minister of the Republic of Barbados) and Mr. António Guterres (Secretary-General of the United Nations).

His Majesty subsequently held a Reception at St. James's Palace to highlight Solutions for the Rapid Reduction of Methane and Non-CO2 Pollutants.

The Prince of Wales, on behalf of The King, held an Investiture at Windsor Castle this morning.

The President of the Republic of Palau visited His Majesty this afternoon.

The King, Colonel-in-Chief, The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada, afterwards received Lieutenant-Colonel Bruce Bolton (Honorary Colonel) and Serving Personnel.

The King, Patron, the Royal Society, received Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence (Chairman of Trustees, Science Museum Group), Sir Ian Blatchford (Director, Science Museum Group), Sir Paul Nurse (President, the Royal Society) and Dame Julie Maxton (Executive Director, the Royal Society) who bestowed on His Majesty a Fellowship of the Science Museum Group.

Later, The King received President Clinton.

The Rt. Hon. Sir Keir Starmer MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of His Majesty.

The King, Royal Founding Patron, and The Queen this evening joined a Reception for the Royal Drawing School at Clarence House.
