His Royal Highness, Master, the Honourable Company of Master Mariners, later visited City of Glasgow College, Riverside Campus, 21 Thistle Street, Glasgow.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Royal Patron, the Royal Lyceum Theatre, having been received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost), this evening attended a performance in support of the Theatre's At Home project and to mark the Theatre's Sixtieth Anniversary.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Kent, former President, All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, this afternoon attended the Wimbledon Championships at Church Road, Wimbledon, London SW19.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Northern Lighthouse Board, today visited NLV POLE STAR off the West Coast of Scotland.

The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, today completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in support of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Her Royal Highness this morning met representatives from Mountain Rescue England and Wales.

The Princess of Wales subsequently climbed Scafell Pike, Wasdale Head, Cumbria.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon climbed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Llanberis.

Palace Of Holyroodhouse

The King and Queen this morning drove to the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh, to attend the Opening Ceremony to mark the Seventh Session of the Scottish Parliament and were received at Queensberry House by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost). Mr. Kenneth Gibson MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) and the Rt. Hon. John Swinney MSP (First Minister of Scotland).

The Presiding Officer opened the Session of Parliament in the Chamber and His Majesty was graciously pleased to address the Scottish Parliament.

The First Minister subsequently addressed the Parliament.

A Guard of Honour was found by Balaclava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The King and Queen afterwards met groups of Local Heroes in the Main Hall of the Scottish Parliament.
