The King, Captain General Royal Marines, today presented new Colours to 40, 42, 43 and 45 Commandos in the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle.

Having been received upon arrival by the Commandant General Royal Marines (General Sir Gwyn Jenkins), His Majesty was received on Parade with a Royal Salute.

After the Consecration of the Colours, The King was graciously pleased to address the Corps and the Commandant General replied.

The Corps subsequently marched past His Majesty and The King witnessed a flypast by aircraft of the Commando Helicopter Force.

His Majesty this afternoon attended a Corps Reception at the Cricket Ground.

St. James's Palace

The Duchess of Edinburgh, with The Duke of Edinburgh, this evening opened "the Plants with Purpose Garden" at the Royal Windsor Flower Show, Berkshire.

His Excellency Mr. Ilia Darchiashvili was received in audience by The King today and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from Georgia to the Court of St. James's.

His Excellency Mr. Heung-chong Kim was received in audience by The King and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own Letters of Credence as Ambassador from the Republic of Korea to the Court of St. James's.

Mrs. Chou Mi Sa was also received by His Majesty.

Mr. Neil Wigan (Director General Strategy and Delivery for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) was present.

The King, Captain General, Royal Regiment of Artillery, this afternoon attended the Formation Parade for The King's Gurkha Artillery, formed from the Royal Regiment of Artillery and the Brigade of Gurkhas, at Larkhill Barracks, Salisbury, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire (Dame Sarah Troughton), Field Marshal the Lord Richards of Herstmonceux, the Master Gunner St. James's Park (Lieutenant General Michael Elviss) and the Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas (Major General Gerald Strickland).

His Majesty was received with a Royal Salute and addressed the parade.

The King afterwards met serving personnel and their families in the Officers' Mess.

His Majesty gave a Dinner Party at Windsor Castle this evening.

The Queen this morning attended the Annual Founder's Day Parade at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Royal Hospital Road, London SW3.
