The Duchess of Edinburgh, Honorary President, Linking Environment And Farming, this morning attended Groundswell Regenerative Agriculture Festival at Lannock Farm, Weston, Hitchin, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire (Mr. Robert Voss).

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, this morning departed from Kemble Airfield, Gloucestershire, for France and, having been received upon arrival at Albert-Picardie Airport by His Majesty's Ambassador to the French Republic (His Excellency Sir Thomas Drew) and the Prefect of the Somme (Mr. Rollon Mouchel-Blaisot), undertook the following engagements:

Her Royal Highness, President, Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this morning attended a Service to commemorate the One Hundred and Tenth Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at Thiepval Memorial, Rue de l'Ancre, Thiepval, Somme.

The Princess Royal this afternoon attended the Somme Association's Service of Remembrance at the Ulster Memorial Tower, Route de Saint-Pierre Divion, Thiepval.

Her Royal Highness, Colonel-in-Chief, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, later attended a Service to Mark the One Hundred and Tenth Anniversary of the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel at Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial, Rue de l'Église, Auchonvillers.

The Princess Royal, accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, later arrived at Kemble Airfield, Gloucestershire, from France.

Colonel John Boyd and Captain Charles Wallace were in attendance.

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary President, the Somme Association, today undertook engagements in France.

His Royal Highness this morning attended a Service of Remembrance to commemorate the One Hundred and Tenth Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Thiepval Memorial, Rue de l'Ancre, Thiepval.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Service of Remembrance at the Ulster Memorial Tower, Route de Saint-Pierre Divion, Thiepval, to commemorate the Soldiers of the 36th (Ulster) Division who gave their lives at the Battle of the Somme.

The Duke of Gloucester afterwards attended a Service of Remembrance at the Ginchy Cross Memorial, 4 Rue de l'Église, Guillemont, to commemorate the Soldiers of the 16th (Irish) Division who gave their lives at the Battle of the Somme.

His Royal Highness this evening arrived at St. Pancras International Railway Station, Euston Road, London N1, from France.

Major Charles MacEwan was in attendance.

The Duchess of Gloucester, Patron, Friends of St. Paul's Cathedral, and Patron, St. Paul's Cathedral Chorister Trust, this afternoon attended the Annual Friends' Festal Evensong and a Chorister Recital in St. Paul's Cathedral, London EC4.

Palace Of Holyroodhouse

The King this morning was received in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh (Councillor Robert Aldridge, the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost) and members of the City of Edinburgh Council, when the Rt. Hon. the Lord Provost surrendered to The King the Keys of the City, which His Majesty returned to him.

A Guard of Honour found by Balaclava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Thomas Blair was mounted in the garden.

F Company, Scots Guards, The King's Bodyguard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

Afterwards The King was received inside the Palace by the Hereditary Keeper (the Duke of Hamilton and Brandon).

His Majesty later held an Investiture at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The King this afternoon received Mr. John Scott-Moncrieff upon relinquishing his appointment as Bailie of the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Mr. Barry McCorkell upon assuming the appointment.

Mr. Kenneth Gibson MSP (Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament) was received by His Majesty.

The Rt. Hon. John Swinney MSP (First Minister of the Scottish Government) was received in audience by The King.

The King and Queen gave an Afternoon Party in the garden of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Duke of Edinburgh and The Princess Royal were present.

The King's Body Guard for Scotland, Royal Company of Archers and the High Constables of the Palace of Holyroodhouse were on duty.

The Band of the Royal Marines Scotland, the Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Royal Scottish Pipers' Society played selections of music during the afternoon.

Professor Sir James McDonald was received by The King this evening when His Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.

The Queen, Patron, this morning visited the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture, the Mound, Edinburgh, to mark its Bicentenary and was received by Mrs. Elaine Aitken (Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh).

Her Majesty this afternoon received Ms. Joanne Rowling (Author).

The Prince of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, today undertook the following engagements related to the "Homewards" programme:

His Royal Highness this morning attended an event in London to mark the Third Anniversary of the "Homewards" programme and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London (Sir Kenneth Olisa).

The Prince William, Duke of Rothesay this afternoon visited Langstane Housing Association, 680 King Street, Aberdeen, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Aberdeen (Councillor David Cameron, the Lord Provost).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited an Innovative Housing Project property in Aberdeen.

The Prince William, Duke of Rothesay subsequently attended the Festival of Homewards at Marcliffe Hotel, North Deeside Road, Pitfodels, Aberdeen.

The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this morning received Ms. Nicola Forrest (Founder, Coaxial Foundation and Founder, Minderoo Foundation) at Windsor Castle.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Trustee, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, this morning visited the Fisherrow Centre, South Street, Musselburgh, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of East Lothian (Mr. Roderick Urquhart).
