The Princess Royal, Vice Patron, the British Horse Society, this morning attended a Coaching Career Insight Day at Ingestre Stables, Ingestre, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire (Mr. Ian Dudson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, the Butler Trust, later visited HM Prison Drake Hall, Eccleshall, Staffordshire.

The Princess Royal, Patron, Transaid, this evening attended a Reception at London Transport Museum, 39 Wellington Street, London WC2, and was received by the Reverend Canon Dr. Flora Winfield (Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust, this morning attended the Nuffield Farming Scholarships Conference at Sandy Park, Sandy Park Way, Exeter, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Devon (Mr. David Fursdon).

The Duchess of Gloucester, Royal Patron, Cathedral Music Trust, this afternoon attended Evensong followed by a Reception in Westminster Abbey, London SW1.

Buckingham Palace

The King and Queen were present at the Service of Thanksgiving for the late Earl of Airlie KT (Lord Chamberlain to The late Queen Elizabeth II) which was held in the Chapel of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London SW3, this afternoon.

The Prince of Wales was represented by Miss Helen Asprey.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were represented by Mrs. Angus Galletley.

The Princess Royal was represented by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The Duke of Kent was represented by Earl of St. Andrews.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mr. James Ogilvy and Miss Marina Ogilvy.

Later The King received the Bishop of Lincoln (the Right Reverend Stephen Conway) who did homage upon his appointment.

Afterwards His Majesty received the Bishop of Winchester (the Right Reverend Philip Mountstephen who did homage upon his appointment.

The Bishop of Carlisle (Clerk of the Closet) was in attendance and administered the Oath.

The King handed to the Bishop of Winchester the Badge and Chain of Office upon his appointment as Prelate of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

Mr. David White (Garter King of Arms) was in attendance.

The Right Reverend James Newcombe was received subsequently by The King upon relinquishing his appointment as Clerk of the Closet when His Majesty appointed him a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

The Right Reverend Richard Jackson (Bishop of Hereford) was received by The King upon his appointment as Clerk of the Closet and received his Badge of Office.

His Majesty held a Council at 4.00 p.m..

The Rt. Hon. Victoria Atkins MP received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, took the Oath of Office and kissed hands on appointment.

The Rt. Hon. Stephen Barclay MP received the Seals of Office as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, took the Oath of Office and kissed hands on appointment.

Mr. Richard Tilbrook was in attendance as Clerk of the Council.

The King this evening held a Reception at Buckingham Palace for those members of Overseas Territories attending the Joint Ministerial Council.

The Queen this afternoon joined the Commonwealth Women Leader's Forum at Marlborough House, Pall Mall, London SW1, and, having been received by the Commonwealth Secretary-General (the Baroness Scotland of Asthal), attended a Reception.

The Duke of Edinburgh this morning departed Singapore Changi Airport for New Zealand and arrived this evening at Auckland International Airport.

Her Royal Highness, Global Ambassador, International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, this evening held a Reception at St. James's Palace.

Her Royal Highness this afternoon visited the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Marine Terminal, Cavendish Dock Road, Barrow-in-Furness.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, afterwards visited Barrow-in-Furness Citizens Advice Bureau to mark the re-opening of Ramsden Hall in Abbey Road, Barrow-in-Furness.

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, this evening attended a Dinner at St. George's Hall, St. George's Place, Liverpool, to mark its One Hundred and Twenty Fifth Anniversary and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside (Mr. Mark Blundell).

Today is the Seventy Fifth Anniversary of the Birthday of The King.

The King and Queen today officially launched the Coronation Food Project at South Oxfordshire Food and Education Alliance, Trident Business Park, Didcot, and were received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire (Mrs. Marjorie Glasgow), Dame Martina Milburn and the Baroness Casey of Blackstock (Co-Chairmen of the Coronation Food Project) and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kennell (Founders of South Oxfordshire Food and Education Alliance).OX11 7HJ

Their Majesties toured the surplus food distribution centre which rescues surplus food and redistributes it to communities across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire and met members of staff and volunteers.

The King and Queen viewed the packing stations and the food vans loaded for distribution, before visiting the allotment garden and the kitchen, and subsequently meeting supporters of the Coronation Food Project and those who use food larders and food banks.

Their Majesties afterwards met representatives of the major United Kingdom supermarkets and food manufacturers who have agreed to join the Food Alliance.

The King this afternoon held a Reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate nurses and midwives working in the United Kingdom, at which The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, the Brendoncare Foundation, this afternoon opened Brendoncare St. Giles View Care Home, 42 Quarry Road, Winchester, and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire (Mr. Nigel Atkinson).

Her Royal Highness, Patron, Rochester Cathedral Trust, this evening attended a Dinner in Rochester Cathedral and was received by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Kent (the Lady Colgrain).
