This evening at Buckingham Palace, Princess Alexandra attended a concert to celebrate the power of music to enrich people's lives, especially those suffering with dementia.
This was a unique occasion where The Princess was able to bring together the Alzheimer’s Society, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Choir and Wigmore Hall; four of Her Royal Highness' Patronages.
The concert featured the Croydon-based group, 'Singing for the Brain', a vital service offered by the Alzheimer's Society for people with dementia.
The Princess met people representing the different organisations in the picture gallery before the performances begun in The Ballroom.
Princess Alexandra has been Patron of the Alzheimer's Society since 1990. Last year HRH attended the Alzheimer's Society's annual People Awards ceremony, at St James's Palace. Princess Alexandra is also Patron of Music for Life at Wigmore Hall, a Therapeutic workshop developed for people with Alzheimer's disease of other forms of dementia.
