The Queen leaves hospital

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS ISSUED BY THE PRESS SECRETARY TO THE QUEEN
The Queen has left hospital this morning following an overnight stay for a minor knee operation. The operation, which took place at King Edward VII Hospital in London, removed a torn cartilage in her right knee.
Her Majesty has returned to Sandringham for rest over the next two weeks. The Queen will then resume a limited programme of engagements until she has made a full recovery.
