From July-October each year, visitors can walk through 19 of the magnificent State Rooms and explore the Palace's Garden.

Buckingham Palace Summer opening

During most of the year Buckingham Palace is the office and London residence of The Queen.

But since 1993, during the summer months, the palace is open to the public. Visitors can walk around 19 magnificent State Rooms, used during the year for official entertaining and ceremonial functions.

Inside Buckingham Palace

Each year, Royal Historical Palaces created a special exhibition for summer opening. This year, the exhibition focuses on Royal Gifts, telling the story of The Queen’s reign through a wide-ranging display of official gifts presented to Her Majesty during the past 65 years.

During the visit, guests can walk through the garden where The Queen's annual garden parties are held.
