The King celebrates community music at a special reception
Published
The King has hosted a local community music reception at Windsor Castle to recognise those involved in community music across the UK.

His Majesty, alongside The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester have hosted guests at a music reception to celebrate the vital role music plays in strengthening communities and the important work of those developing future musical leaders, such as choir and band directors, by providing the next generation with knowledge and experience.

During the reception, there were performances from musicians throughout the evening, including the London Gay Men's Chorus, Songs for Ukraine Chorus, and the Sing for Freedom Choir.

The evening also featured performances by the Royal College of Music Jazz Band, YolanDa Brown, and the London Vegetable Orchestra.

The King had the opportunity to meet the performances and discuss the importance of music before joining the London Vegetable Orchestra for a rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” on a carrot recorder!
