I just wish I could tell all of you and show you the remarkable change that is happening.

Prince Harry

Thank you Richard and to everyone for coming this evening, many from far and wide but not as far and as wide as myself, but thank you.

I wanted to very briefly explain the vision that my Lesotho brother Prince Seeiso who can’t be here tonight, and I had in setting up Sentebale. Both our mothers led by example in caring for vulnerable children within Africa and with my love of children and Africa, Lesotho stood out as a country in desperate need of attention, help and commitment.

Over 100 children are orphaned every day and within a population of 1.8million there are 400,000 orphans and vulnerable children – in a country the same size as this state of Connecticut. It is a country small enough to make a visible change and with help from the village chiefs and the people themselves we aim to reduce this number dramatically. We are there for the long haul and the change is already visible. I just wish I could tell all of you and show you the remarkable change that is happening.

Everyone here tonight can help, don’t think that you can’t – believe you can, because I have seen it in the children’s eyes. I am now going to hand over to Kedge Martin, Chief Executive of Sentebale who will tell you more.

Thank you and have a good night.
