The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Baby | Gifts and Charitable Donations
Published
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are immensely grateful for the support in anticipation of the birth of their first child.
In lieu of sending gifts the couple had long planned to encourage members of the public to make donations to select charities for children and parents in need. If you already made a donation, Their Royal Highnesses send you their warmest thanks.
The Duke and Duchess would be grateful if people wishing to give gifts look to provide their support one of these four organisations:
Little Village is like a foodbank, but for clothes, toys and essentials for babies and children up to the age of five. The Duchess of Sussex became aware of the organisation last December and strongly believes in their community ethos and goal to ensure every parent and young child have the necessary supplies and support they need.
Lunchbox Fund provides a nutritious daily school meal to children in South Africa who would otherwise go hungry. Since its inception, The Lunchbox Fund F has provided over 20 million meals to school children in need. This meal encourages children to attend school and enables them to better concentrate and maximise their learning potential. As President and Vice President of The Queens Commonwealth Trust, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are committed to supporting the young people and communities of the 53 commonwealth countries around the world.
The Duke of Sussex has proudly been Patron of Well Child since 2007. Over 100,000 children and young people are living with serious illness or exceptional health needs across the UK. Many spend months, even years in hospital because there is no support enabling them to leave. Well Child’s vision is for every child and young person living with serious health needs to have the best chance to thrive - properly supported at home with their families. Both The Duke and Duchess attended the Well Child Awards in 2018, supporting the incredible families and children who benefit from the organisation’s programmes.
Baby2Baby provides children ages 0-12 living in poverty with the necessities every child deserves. In the last seven years, B2B has distributed over 50 million items to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programmes, foster care, hospitals, underserved schools, and to children who have lost everything in the wake of disasters.
Gifts from commercial organisations will not be accepted. They will be returned to the sender, unless the cost of shipping is too prohibitive, in which case the commercial gifts will be donated to an appropriate charity.
The Duke and Duchess remain appreciative for your warm wishes and kindness during this especially happy time in their lives.
