Published 1 November 2016

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, has welcomed the President of Colombia and Mrs Santos to the UK on the first day of the Colombia State Visit.

Before the ceremonial welcome at Horse Guards Parade, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall greeted the President and Mrs Santos in London.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh greeted the President and Mrs Santos at Horse Guards Parade, as a Guard of Honour gave a Royal Salute and the Colombian National Anthem was played.

The Party then departed in a Carriage Procession towards Buckingham Palace, led by the Sovereign's Escort of the Household Cavalry down the Mall.

The Queen and President Santos, followed by The Duke of Edinburgh and Mrs Santos then arrived at Buckingham Palace, and were greeted by a Guard of Honour.

Later in the evening, The Queen will host a State Banquet in the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace, to mark the end of the first day of the State Visit.
