Clarence House is pleased to announce that Prince Harry has passed his Regular Commissions Board (RCB).

This enables Harry to go to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst next year to begin his training as an officer in the Army. On receiving the news this morning, Prince Harry said: “I am delighted that I have passed my RCB and that I can now go to Sandhurst. The last four days have been very challenging, both mentally and physically, but it’s also been an enjoyable experience. “I have set my sights on joining the Army and I am really looking forward to going to Sandhurst next year.” Harry took his RCB with thirty one other candidates during the past four days, when senior Army assessors looked to find those candidates best suited for training to become Army officers.

The Board is demanding, and consists of a number of tests and tasks designed to assess mental, physical and emotional aptitude. The annual average pass rate is about 60 per cent.
