The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh this morning departed from Heathrow Airport, London, and were received this afternoon upon arrival at Malta International Airport by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta (Her Excellency Ms. Katherine Ward).

Their Royal Highnesses called upon The President of the Republic of Malta at the Grandmaster's Palace, St. George's Square, Valletta.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh afterwards called upon the Prime Minister of the Republic of Malta (the Rt. Hon. Dr. Robert Abela) at Auberge de Castille, Castille Square, Valletta.

Their Royal Highnesses this evening attended a Commonwealth Reception given by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta at the Residence in Valletta.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, with The President of the Republic of Malta and The President Emeritus of the Republic of Malta, later attended a Dinner given by the British High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta at the Residence.

Brigadier Alexander Potts and Mrs. Angus Galletley are in attendance.

The Duke of Gloucester, President, the London Society, this afternoon received Ms. Leanne Tritton (Chairman) and Mr. Robert Fiehn (Director).

The Duke of Gloucester, Patron, Royal Auxiliary Air Force Foundation, this morning attended the Centenary Service at St. Clement Danes Church, Strand, London WC2.

His Royal Highness, Air Commodore-in-Chief, this afternoon unveiled a stained glass window commemorating the Centenary of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force at the Royal Air Force Club, 128 Piccadilly, London W1.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Patron, Girlguiding, this afternoon attended a planned link-up with the International Space Station at Brooklands Motor Museum, Brooklands Drive, Weybridge, to promote the engagement and involvement of girls and young women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and was received by Ms. Mary Zoeller (Deputy Lieutenant of Surrey).

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Royal Colonel, 5th Battalion The Rifles, this morning attended a Homecoming Parade at Ward Barracks, Bulford, Wiltshire.

The Princess Royal, Patron, the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, this morning received Mr. Eoghan Cameron (Chairman) and Mr. Ian Bell (Chief Executive Officer).

Her Royal Highness, President, the Mission to Seafarers, afterwards received the Reverend Canon Andrew Wright upon relinquishing his appointment as Secretary General and the Venerable Dr. Peter Rouch upon assuming the appointment.

The Princess Royal, Vice Patron, the British Horse Society, later attended the Changing Lives Through Horses Forum at Saddlers' Hall, 40 Gutter Lane, London EC2, and was received by Colonel Simon Duckworth (a Lieutenant of the City of London).

Kensington Palace

The Duke of Gloucester, President, Christ's Hospital, and The Duchess of Gloucester this morning attended a St. Matthew's Day Service in St. Paul's Cathedral in commemoration of the Three Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Royal Mathematical School and afterwards attended a Luncheon at Guildhall, Gresham Street, London EC2.
