State Visit by the Amir of the State of Qatar

The Amir of the State of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, accompanied by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani, has accepted an invitation from His Majesty The King to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from Tuesday 3rd December to Wednesday 4th December 2024.
The King and Queen will host the State Visit at Buckingham Palace.
Background
The King has visited Qatar on eight occasions, as The Prince of Wales, between 1986 and 2015. His Majesty was accompanied by The Queen, as The Duchess of Cornwall, on the visits in 2007 and 2013.
His Highness The Amir has visited the United Kingdom on eight occasions between 2014 and 2023. In 2023, His Highness was accompanied by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher, as Consort of His Highness The Amir, to the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and Queen.
Most recently, The King met The Amir of the State of Qatar in December 2023 at the COP28 summit in Dubai.
