The Duchess of Cornwall invites children to decorate the Clarence House Christmas tree
Published
Today, The Duchess of Cornwall invited children and young people from Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity to help decorate the Clarence House Christmas tree.
Her Royal Highness is Patron of both charities, which help families cope with the challenges of looking after a seriously ill baby, child or young adult.
The children met Captain Ross of the Welsh Guards, who helped them to decorate the Christmas tree, and enjoyed lunch and treats with their families in the Dining Room of Clarence House.
In the garden, a special surprise was waiting – reindeers Dancer and Blitzen!
Helen & Douglas House care for terminally ill children and their families in Oxfordshire and surrounding counties through medical, emotional and practical support.
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity was founded more than 25 years ago by Felicity Dahl in memory of the determination of her husband Roald Dahl, the famous children's author, to improve the lives of those around him.
The charity supports a network of more than 70 Roald Dahl Specialist Nurses across the UK, who provide expert help and support to seriously ill children.
