The King and Queen visit Dedham

Their Majesties The King and Queen met local community heroes at The Sun Inn, before greeting members of the public along Dedham High Street and joining a tea party at the Essex Rose Teahouse.
The Sun Inn Dedham, a characterful 15th-century inn, has been consistently named one of the best pubs in the United Kingdom. Their Majesties were greeted by Piers Baker, who has owned the pub independently for 25 years.
Inside, The King and Queen had the opportunity to meet ‘local heroes’ and businesses which support the community of Dedham. The ’local heroes’ and businesses include Next Chapter, a local domestic abuse charity; the Money Confidence programme, which offers free peer-to-peer financial education to help people to improve their financial situation; and the Dedham Vale Vineyard, which is set on forty acres of vines, woods and pastures on the edge of Dedham Vale.
Before departing, The Queen had the opportunity to make pasta in the pub's kitchen.
With a backdrop of music and dancers, Their Majesties met members of the local community and pupils from the nearby school as they walk down the High Street to the Essex Rose Teahouse.
At the Teahouse, The King and Queen met staff and joined a tea party. The Essex Rose Teahouse dates back to the 16th century, and has been in the centre of the community for around 500 years.
