Thursday 27th March
To celebrate 70 years since the first broadcast on ITV, The Queen visited the set of ITV drama Trigger Point, before attending a reception to mark the occasion and showcase talent across the ITV network.

Accompanied by Dame Carolyn McCall, Chief Executive of ITV, and Executive Producers Jed Mercurio and Jessica Sharkey, The Queen met cast and crew involved in the upcoming third series of Trigger Point, including Vicky McClure and a bomb disposal expert advising the production.

Her Majesty also had the opportunity to observe the team in action whilst a scene was filmed.

Following this, The Queen joined a reception attended by familiar faces from some of ITV’s well-known programmes and staff working behind the scenes in a range of areas across the company.

Her Majesty viewed a display looking back on Royal moments in ITV’s 70-year history and showcasing ITV’s range of work over the years.

Following a speech by Dame Carolyn McCall, The Queen cut a clapperboard-shaped cake to mark the occasion.
