The Duchess of Cornwall tours the Royal Academy of Arts

The Duchess of Cornwall today visited the Royal Academy of Arts in Piccadilly as the gallery reopens after lockdown.
The Duchess is Patron of the Friends of the Royal Academy and celebrated with the charity and met members of the team who have been instrumental in the gallery’s safe reopening.
Her Royal Highness described David Hockney’s vibrant new exhibition as “glorious and uplifting – just what we need”.
Hockney’s 116 creations, which were digitally painted on an iPad and then printed onto paper, depict the arrival of spring in Normandy.
The artist worked on the collection during lockdown last year – producing a new piece every day during the spring months.
The Duchess of Cornwall also viewed Michael Armitage’s Paradise Edict exhibition, which explores East African landscapes, politics and society, and met staff including members of the ticketing, visitor welcome and security team.
