The Duke of Rothesay spends a final day in Scotland
Published
The Duke of Rothesay ended the Royal visit to Scotland today in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.
The day began on the Isle of Bute with a visit to Bute Fabrics. This contemporary textile manufacturer is one of the largest employers on the island and aims to develop a sustainably, innovative and creative textile business that makes a positive impact on Bute and the global community over the coming years.
During the visit, The Duke heard how Bute Fabrics encourages young people to live and work on the Isle of Bute, by providing workshops and internships. His Royal Highness also toured the mill, production facility and design studio.
Next, it was on to the village of Lochcarron and the Howard Dorris Centre. The centre allows people with varying needs to stay and to be cared for in their own community, enjoying their own culture and chosen activities. It provides community-based services all under one roof, including supported accommodation, nursing, social and day care.
His Royal Highness met staff, volunteers, residents and clients, and heard about the many uses of this community hub.
The Duke of Rothesay’s day ended with a tour of Attadale Gardens in Strathcarron. The beautiful garden is open from April to October with an honesty box for visitors, with all donations going to charity. During His Royal Highness's visit to Attadale Gardens, he spent some time at a local produce fair.
