The Prince of Wales undertakes engagements in West Sussex

The Prince of Wales began a day in West Sussex with a visit to L3Harris Technologies’ London Training Centre, which provides a pilot training site as well as a flight simulator facility. During the visit, His Royal Highness met production apprentices and engineers, as well as cadets taking part in The Prince’s Trust Flying Scholarship. 

The Prince also entered a flight simulator and successfully achieved a virtual take-off and landing at Glasgow Airport. 

Before departing, His Royal Highness unveiled a plaque and said: 

I’m full of admiration for the remarkable and technical teamwork that goes into producing all this sophisticated equipment. It’s a remarkable example of people from all around the world coming together to pool their brain power and ingenuity.

The Prince of Wales later visited the Millennium Seed Bank at Wakehurst Place, which is owned and managed by Kew Gardens, of which His Royal Highness is Patron. 

The Prince visited the ‘State of the World’s Plants’ exhibition and the Seed Bank, where His Royal Highness heard about the research being undertaken by Kew Science. The Millennium Seed Bank (MSB), which was opened by The Prince of Wales in 2000, is now the largest and most diverse wild plant species genetic resource in the world – the result of contribution from a global network working across more than 95 countries. 

To end the day, The Prince visisted Wakehurst’s Coronation Meadow.
