The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended commemorative events in Normandy today, 75 years on from the D-Day landings.
Their Royal Highnesses joined the Prime Minister and D-Day veterans at a Service of Remembrance to commemorate Allied troops landing on the beaches on 6th June 1944.
The congregation heard a reading from D-Day veteran Kenneth Hay.
Mr Hay, reading from Cyril Crain's poem Normandy, said: "Come and stand in memory of men who fought and died.
"They gave their lives in Normandy, remember them with pride."
Crain was also a Normandy soldier, and landed at Juno Beach in June 1944, four days before his 21st birthday. He died in 2014 age 91.
Also at Bayeux Cathedral were Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt, Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry, as well as senior staff from the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force.
Their Royal Highnesses then attended a Service of Remembrance at the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Bayeux and The Prince of Wales laid the first wreath at the Cross of Sacrifice to commemorate all those who fought and died in the D-Day landings.
Following this, The Prince and The Duchess met D-Day veterans and joined a reception.
The Duchess of Cornwall met members of the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, of which Her Royal Highness has been Colonel-in-Chief since 2011, and The Prince of Wales met people involved with the Normandy Memorial Trust.
His Royal Highness is Royal Patron of the Normandy Memorial Trust, which aims to commemorate over 20,000 men and women who lost their lives on D-Day or in the weeks that followed.

Today, Her Majesty The Queen and The Prince of Wales attended a National Commemorative Event to mark the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. The event took place on Southsea Common in Portsmouth, where much of the landing force left for Normandy.
The commemorations involved speeches from Heads of State whose countries were involved in the campaign, and told the story of D-Day through musical performances, readings and military displays, including a fly-past of 25 modern and historical aircraft.
The Queen made a speech thanking all those who had taken part in the landings as the commemorations drew to a close.
