The Prince visits Durham and Cumbria
Published
On Tuesday, The Prince of Wales carried out engagements in Durham.
At Bishop Auckland, The Prince welcomed The Queen of Spain to official open the Spanish Gallery. The Spanish Gallery is the first gallery in the UK dedicated to the art, history and culture of Spain and houses portraits by key artists such as Velázquez and Murillo.
The Queen and His Royal Highness also viewed the Francisco de Zurbarán art collection, Jacob and His Twelve Sons, at Auckland Castle.
Earlier in the morning, The Prince had opened the Darlington Farmers Auction Mart and met representatives of technological innovators, Kromek Group.
On Wednesday, The Prince visited Penrith in Cumbria.
Here, His Royal Highness visited Tebay Services Farm Shop, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. During the visit, The Prince sampled their local produce and met long-serving members of staff, apprentices and the Dunning family, who own the business.
Later, The Prince went to Hutton-In-The-Forest, where he met members of the local farming community, innovative business owners and supporters of Newtown Rigg, which brings together committed experts of land based education.
