The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visit Crete, Greece

Their Royal Highnesses spent the final day of the Royal Visit to Greece in Crete.

Their Royal Highnesses began the day at Knossos Archaeological Site where they were welcomed in bright sunshine by Professor John Bennet, director of the British School at Athens, who gave Their Royal Highnesses a tour of the area.

The Duchess of Cornwall met a group of school children learning about Minoan life in Crete while The Prince of Wales joined a "Cooking Like Minoans" event where His Royal Highness added honey to a Greek pot containing a lentil dish.

Her Royal Highness continued the day at Lyrarakis Winery, a family run business which champions the rediscovery of formerly extinct ancient wine varieties. The Duchess met the owners of the winery and undertook a tour of the vineyard before attending a wine tasting reception. During the visit, Her Royal Highness said, "I never had Greek wine before, but it is delicious. I will certainly have it again."

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness visited the Heraklion Development Agency to learn about their support programme for refugees.

Their Royal Highnesses' final visit of the day was to a celebration of Cretan food, culture and heritage at Church Square in the village of Archanes.

The Prince and the Duchess participated in a traditional Cretan dance, named siganos, which involves the dancers linking arms and rotating in a circle.
