Friday 9th September
His Majesty The King made a statement following the announcement of The Queen’s death.
The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

Royal Salutes were fired in London 1300hrs BST in Hyde Park by The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery and at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company. One round was fired for each year of The Queen's life.
Upon arrival arrival at Buckingham Palace, Their Majesties met members of the public who were paying their respects.
The King held an Audience at Buckingham Palace with the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Liz Truss MP.

Saturday 10th September
His Majesty The King was formally proclaimed at the Accession Council, held at St James’s Palace.
His Majesty made a personal declaration and read and signed an oath to uphold the security of the Church in Scotland.
After the Accession Council, the Principal Proclamation was made from the balcony overlooking Friary Court at St James's Palace.
Members of The Royal Family viewed the many floral tributes that have been left in memory of Her Majesty at Balmoral.
At Buckingham Palace, His Majesty The King, accompanied by Her Majesty The Queen Consort, held Audiences with the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Prime Minister and Members of the Cabinet, and Opposition Party Leaders.
The first public Proclamation of the new King was read at St James’s Palace following the Accession Council.
Sunday 11th September
Accompanied by The Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence, Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin left Balmoral and arrived at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
At Buckingham Palace, The King today held an Audience with the Commonwealth Secretary-General and later, accompanied by The Queen Consort, held a reception with High Commissioners from the Realms of the Commonwealth.
Ceremonies were held in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Commonwealth Realms to officially proclaim King Charles III as the new Monarch.
Monday 12th September
Members of both Houses of Parliament met in Westminster Hall for the Presentation of Addresses to His Majesty King Charles III.
The King replied to addresses of condolence at Westminster Hall:
"As I stand before you today, I cannot help but feel the weight of history which surrounds us and which reminds us of the vital Parliamentary traditions to which Members of both Houses dedicate yourselves”
Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort arrived in Edinburgh where they viewed floral tributes left by members of the public.
At the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Their Majesties were welcomed by a Guard of Honour, formed by the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
A Procession conveyed The Queen’s coffin to St Giles’ Cathedral, where lay at rest to allow the people of Scotland to pay their respects.
A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Her Majesty The Queen took place at St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh. The Order of Service is available here.
The King and The Queen Consort attended the Ceremony of the Keys.
The tradition welcomes the monarch to the ‘ancient and hereditary kingdom of Scotland’ by symbolically receiving the Keys of the City of Edinburgh.
At the Palace of Holyroodhouse, His Majesty The King received the First Minister of Scotland and the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
A motion of Condolence and reception was held at Scottish Parliament. His Majesty The King replied to the motion of Condolence:
“I know that the Scottish Parliament and the people of Scotland share with me a profound sense of grief at the death of my beloved mother.”

The Queen’s children held a Vigil beside Her Majesty’s coffin in St Giles’ Cathedral, Edinburgh.
Tuesday 13th September
Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort were in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
His Majesty The King has received the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and representatives from political parties at Hillsborough Castle, Northern Ireland.
The King replied to the message of condolence from the Speaker of Northern Ireland Assembly on behalf of the people of Northern Ireland at Hillsborough Castle. Read The King’s reply in full.
Their Majesties attended a Service of Reflection for the life of Her Majesty The Queen at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast.
Dignitaries, representatives from civic society & the wider community across Northern Ireland were among the congregation paying their respects.

Wednesday 14th September
Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin was borne in Procession on a Gun Carriage of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster where the Queen Lay in State.
A service for the reception of Her Majesty’s coffin was held at Westminster Hall.
Thursday 15th September
Her Majesty’s coffin lay in state at Westminster Hall.
The Prince and Princess of Wales viewed floral tributes and met members of the public in Sandringham.
The Princess Royal visited Glasgow where she met representatives from The Queen’s patronages in Scotland.
Friday 16th September
The King and The Queen Consort were in Wales as part of Their Majesties’ programme of visits across the regions.
Their Majesties arrived at Landaff Cathedral in Cardiff where they attended a Service of Prayer and Reflection for the life of Her Majesty The Queen. The Order of Service is available here.
After the service, The King and The Queen Consort met members of public and thanked them for their messages of condolence.
At the Senedd The King and The Queen Consort The King and The Queen Consort received a Motion of Condolence from the First Minister.
The King responded to the address:
“Through all the years of her reign, the land of Wales could not have been closer to my mother’s heart. Roedd lle arbennig i Gymru yn ei chalon.”
At Cardiff Castle, The King received the First Minister of Wales and the Presiding Officer (Llywydd).
The King and The Queen Consort then attended a reception for local charities. Their Majesties concluded their time in Cardiff meeting members of the public in the castle grounds.
The Earl of Wessex released a statement:
Meanwhile, The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Army Training Centre Pirbright to meet Troops from the Commonwealth who have been deployed to the UK to take part in the state funeral of Her Majesty The Queen.
Soldiers from Canada, Australia and New Zealand have gathered at Pirbright to rehearse their roles in the ceremony.
At Buckingham Palace, The King held a reception for faith leaders. Read The King’s address in full.

In Westminster Hall, The Queen’s children, The King, The Princess Royal, The Duke of York, and The Earl of Wessex, held a Vigil beside Her Majesty The Queen's coffin at Westminster Hall.
Saturday 17th September
At Buckingham Palace, His Majesty The King held Audiences with the Defence Chiefs of Staff.
His Majesty then visited the Metropolitan Police's Special Operations Room in Lambeth, thanked emergency services workers for their support ahead of the State Funeral for Her Majesty The Queen.
The King was later joined by The Prince of Wales to visit those who have been queueing to see Her Majesty The Queen Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall.
The King then hosted the Governors General of the Realms for a reception and lunch at Buckingham Palace.
His Majesty was accompanied by The Queen Consort, The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Princess Royal, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.
Later, The King received the Prime Ministers of the Realms.
The Queen's grandchildren, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Sussex, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, Mr. Peter Phillips, and Mrs. Zara Tindall held a Vigil beside Her Majesty The Queen's coffin at Westminster Hall.
Sunday 18th September
The King received The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss and the Prime Ministers of the Realms at Buckingham Palace.
The King spoke to The Prime Ministers of Tuvalu, The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda and The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea.
In the evening, Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort, accompanied by members of The Royal Family, hosted a reception for Heads of State and Official Overseas Guests at Buckingham Palace.
